NetSuite freight forwarder integration: client freight on one governed platform

For forwarders, 3PLs, and NVOCCs that run the business on NetSuite, Freightgate applies each client's rates, routing rules, and compliance checks against the order automatically.

A forwarder on NetSuite has the finance side in one place and the freight side in several: a rate sheet per client, a routing guide per account, compliance checks run by whoever remembers. Freightgate's NetSuite TMS integration brings those rulebooks into the workflow. Each client's contract rates, routing rules, and screening run against the NetSuite order as it is created, so margin holds as volume grows without adding people to hold the rules in their heads.

The gap

Every client brings a rulebook. People cannot scale as the library.

Each shipper you serve has its own contract rates, its own routing preferences, and its own compliance requirements. Holding them in spreadsheets and in planners' heads works for a handful of accounts and breaks past that. Every quote, rebooking, and exception handled by hand erodes the margin you bid to win the business, and growth just multiplies the labor.

Carrier sprawl makes it worse. Ocean, air, land, and rail partners each connect differently, and onboarding a new lane should not take weeks of custom work.

Capabilities

What the SuiteApp brings to a forwarding operation.

One rulebook per client, applied on the order

Each client's rates and routing rules and compliance policy are held as policy and applied against the NetSuite order automatically, so the account runs the same way no matter who is at the desk.

Quote to on-contract booking

An enquiry becomes an accurate, on-contract quote across every mode you sell, and the booking is tendered against it, zero-touch where the client's rules allow.

Compliance per client, in the workflow

Denied party screening, ISF, and SOLAS VGM run per client against the order and its parties, so a hold stops the shipment rather than surfacing in a report.

Carrier network already connected

Freightgate connects to 53,000+ truckers, 120+ ocean carriers and NVOs, 115+ airlines, and 65+ rail carriers through EDI, API, and web services, so most of the carriers you move with are live on day one.

Events governed by exception across every client

Milestones, ETA shifts, and exceptions post back against the shipment, and only the events that break a client's rule reach a person.

How it works

A client shipment, governed end to end.

1

Order created for the client in NetSuite

Client, lane, mode, and parties read from the record.

2

Client rulebook applied

That client's contract rates, routing rules, and compliance checks run against the order.

3

Booking tendered

Tendered to the carrier or NVO on the client's terms, zero-touch where the rules allow.

4

Events posted back by exception

Milestones and ETA shifts reported against the shipment; only rule breaches reach a planner.

5

Invoice matched to the client's contract

The carrier invoice is checked against the applied rate before the vendor bill is approved.

Questions

What forwarders on NetSuite ask first.

Is this built for forwarders or for shippers?

Both. The same SuiteApp runs a shipper's own freight and a forwarder's client freight. For a forwarder, the difference is that each client carries its own rulebook, and Freightgate applies the right one to each order.

Can each client have its own rates and rules?

Yes. Contract rates, routing preferences, and compliance policy are held per client and applied against that client's orders automatically.

Which carriers are connected?

53,000+ truckers, 120+ ocean carriers and NVOs, 115+ airlines, and 65+ rail carriers, through EDI, API, and web services, from an integration library built since 1994.

How does compliance work across many principals?

Every party on each shipment is screened against the lists that client's policy requires, and the lists, versions, matches, reviewer, and timestamp are stored against the shipment. The evidence for why a move was allowed sits with the move itself.

Do we keep our carrier relationships?

Yes. Freightgate governs the decision and the rate above the carriers and NVOs you already use. Carriers pay nothing to serve you through the platform.

Does this replace our forwarding system?

No. Freightgate sits above NetSuite and the execution systems you run and connects through EDI, API, and web services. It integrates rather than replaces.

Is this a validated SuiteApp?

Yes. Freightgate is a Built for NetSuite validated hybrid SuiteApp.
